Getting Ready for Spring

Spring always brings on a desire to update,

create, clear out or organize!

Decorate, declutter, freshen up or redesign your space.  Simple changes like painting an accent wall, moving furniture or changing up your accessories will make a world of difference.

Latest trends include the new neutral …. use greys in place of the standard beige as a fresh, new neutral, with pops of wild colour. Purples and greens are the colours we will see most of this season, with blues, reds and oranges as secondary colours to add pizzaz.

Texture is making a comeback. Three-dimensional wallpapers and fabrics are being used in the most daring homes. Fabric with nubs, wallpaper with heavy velvet cutouts are the latest looks.

Furnishings are going back to more traditional designs once again. Colour, pattern and ornamentation is being used once again in décor. Traditional does not mean avoiding colour, but rather using bold colour as an accent will keep your room looking fresh.

Use crystal or glass vases filled with fresh flowers or coloured beads to bring in Spring early. Bringing in light helps chase the winter blues away! Use crystal or glass buttons on pillows, sofa back or cupboard doors.

Still fairly new to design, but gaining momentum, is the use of decals and tattoos for furniture and wall decor that can be added by the homeowner. A number of these are removable so these are a great way to change up your decorating scheme regularly, without all the fuss and mess of traditional decorating methods.

Open up windows to let the sun in … remove winter coverings and use sheers or other light coverings, if privacy is an issue. Wash your windows on the inside ... even if you can't get outside yet! You'll be amazed at the sparkle.

Change up your colours throughout your home … Rose Home Solutions & Interior Décor can help choose the newest colours for your home. … paint one room or your entire home!
